Ever wonder if the enemy has a secret weapon that is keeping Christians from ever getting the upper hand for long? Or maybe you’re asking why every time one generation makes a little head way, everything goes right back down the gutter? It seems second generation Christians always seem to be the last generation Christians. Then there’s a revival and everyone is praising God and taking over the world. And then they’re children come along and are worse than their parents ever were.
Why is that? Why is it that no matter how hard we try nothing seems to be working? I recently asked my best friend a very sobering question, “What would happen if we (Christians) were attacked tomorrow by the US Marines?” She described it in one word, “Massacre.” But I’m sure you can all sit tight because surly no Americans would attack other Americans, right?
But what if they were told that Christians imposed upon people’s freedoms, what if they were told that Christians carried guns and were dangerous? Or in a more roundabout way, what if they were told that the government was always right, and that the state only had the citizen’s best interests at hand? What if they were told that the evilest crime they could ever commit was not to disobey God, but to disobey the state. And as a cherry on top, they were taught that from the youngest age.
You guessed it, I’m talking about public schools. See here’s what happens every time there’s a revival. The adults and teens get saved, they’re encouraged and empowered and their fire is burning. They’re going to change the world. But they’re so busy changing the world they don’t have time to teach their kids themselves, so they put them in the secular school system and expect them to come out the other end as Christian as they went in.
The young ages of 2 through 18 are the most important years of a child’s life. They’re impressionable and easily convinced, they’re faith has never been broken so they’ll believe anything. Including those who tell them they’re parents are nuts. The enemy knows this. That’s why homeschooling is such a threat. Because if they can’t get our children then they lose next time around.
The battle between whether you should homeschool or whether you should send them to public school is not because one is more sinful or one more successful. It is job of every parent to look into their child’s future and determine what is best for them, even if it will hurt them now. It might be harder to teach your children yourself. But in the long run they’re soul is what you’re fighting for.
And not just their future either, you’re also fighting for generations to come. Because here’s the thing, we can rescue kids from abortion, but if we put them in the secular system they will just come out the other end aborting their kids. It’s an endless cycle of pointless battles that the enemy knows the Christians will lose in the end. Hence the reason they’re not really all that bothered when we’re able to band one thing or another. We think we’re winning but they know that the moment we give up our children is the moment we lose.
“As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” Psalms 127:4
Children are deadly. They are the hope for the future and the warriors destined to keep it safe. As long as the public school system is running you can give up hope for ever permanently stomping out abortion, human trafficking, homosexuality, or any other sin you’ve made it your goal to stop. You may succeed in your life time but you will only be leaving the battle to be fought again by your children.
“A man-cub becomes a man, and man is forbidden!” Shere Khan from the Jungle Book movie
The enemies of the Lord know this; the enemies of freedom know this. But every weapon can be used for or against a certain cause. So the enemy can teach their children to follow the state. We can and must teach our children to follow the LORD!
“Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:15
For such is the kingdom of God. Our children make up the kingdom of the living God! Something I recently caught while reading Genesis was the fact that blessings were centered toward the offspring of the person receiving the blessing/curse.
In Genesis 9:25 Noah curses Canaan, the son of Ham who did the wrong. In chapter 15 the Lord blesses Abraham by promising him a seed more than the stars. In chapter 24 Rebekah’s family blesses her by blessing her children “Be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.”
Don’t think that America is the first one to use public “free” schooling to indoctrinate children. Another famous tyrant also used the same system to create an army of blindly following soldiers to stomp on the freedoms of others. His name was Adolf Hitler. This Disney made cartoon video says it all.
I’m not at all discouraging anyone’s attempts against homesexuality or abortion but before you get all tied up, think about investing a bit of your time into undoing the public schools.
